hi ukBerti
yes that's true - I do not want to blame the Muvizu give - but all of these formats - axes and different handlings etc. pity that there are no standards.
I try my best to read everything with and learn. but it is really very difficult. I'm starting to just like you :-)

Hi Snoopy,

I know modelling can be difficult, especially if you are new to it. We have had quite a few requests over the years to have more file types included in the import options, as such, FBX is becoming quite prominent within the animation industry, so it seemed logical that we include it.

I personally used to know very little about modelling up until I started watching these YouTube tutorials on Blender.

Now I feel more confident with it and although I would still say I'm not a modeller, I can put together some nice basic things and import them over using the FBX exporter.

The Wiki is also getting updated all the time to include tutorials and helpful information regarding the new features, be it the FBX importing or hand holding stuff.

I hope you download Blender and give it a go as it's not hard at all once you watch a few I should know as I was the biggest sceptic around! Now I can make quite a few objects and get them in Muvizu!

P.s. here is the link for Blender! http://www.blender.org/

All the best,

-Mike.
edited by Mike_Num_5 on 15/10/2013

Snoopylino - We all know what you mean.

We have all been through the pain of getting to grips with 3D modelling and still all struggle. When I started with Muvizu I knew nothing, and I mean nothing about 3D models.

I still know very, very little about them but over time have built up enough knowledge to be able to get at least somewhere and enable Muvizu to do what I want it to.

This is not so much Muvizu's fault, but rather where 3D modelling technology is at the moment.

Persevere and things will start to come together.

You really work alot on it and put in a lot of effort. I think its dissapointing that there is so much work to do with the fbx import and export as well as with modelling the objects. It is really hard and there is a lot to learn to actually be able to do all thetse things.

Many thanks for all your efforts and i hope that muvizu will find a way to save us all this extra work. Its very easy at the moment to loose the will to work with muvizu - now that i bought it..sigh.

I am glad you share all ur work with us and help us so much. I hope you can succeed with your further work.

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, this is not exactly a procedure '...for everyone...", as Muvizu assumes to be...! Clean your registry, look for folder left....? Not for me... I'm a teacher, not an software engineer!
I'm in contact with the customer care department, exchanging with them screen shots and mails, so that they can try to understand what's going on. The transaction has gone, but I don't still have my upgrade. I hope to solve as soon as possible and I'll give you all a feedback. Anyway thank you very much for your suggestions.
ViCo

yes uninstall it all look for folders left behind and clean your registry and download a fresh copy of 1.2 from the site and install that then enter the license key it should work. If you have done all that then yeah put a ticket into their brand new help desk and they should reply within 24 hours I would think.
edited by urbanlamb on 13/10/2013

I douwnloaded the 1.2 version, as requested. Made the 150GBP transaction and got the code. The transaction has been closed, but, after that, an error during the upgrading procedures occured 4 times and it is still there. I sent an e-mail to the contact help desk. Hope I'll get an answer soon.

Safest option is to download the full version from the website - that will overwrite everything 1.1 related, and you should then be good to go. If Play keeps asking to update itself, the program is probably being blocked by a firewall or not run as administrator or some other obscure thing

I've got version 1.1... You are right. What is strange is that this morning I accepted my play's suggestion to download the latest available version. So I assumed that it was the right one. Do you suggest to dowload it directly from the web site or accepting the pop up that appears everytime I launch the play?
