So what's the prospect for importing body characteristics? I'm mainly talking clothes of course.
I had some Shakespeare-related ideas (esp as those scripts are not copyrighted!) but obviously the standard set doesn't include much suitable. I'm sure there are hats, shoes out there for importing. I can see the import would be tricky as you'd need to scale and attach the model appropriately.

Being able to put custom textures on characters has been, up until now, a no-no. The unreal engine wouldn't allow multiple UV sets on skeletal meshes. But, this has since changed and it's something we can definitely look at.

Better news is that Alan's reconfigured all of our Abstract building block objects to take textures. So, in the next release of Muvizu you'll be able to put textures on the various blocks, cylinders and balls in that set of objects. You'll also be able to scale the textures on the objects too.

Happy days

sniff

Barry

Being able to clothe characters using images would be brilliant if it could be done; although i guess there must be some technical reason why the current decals are limited in size and cannot be extended to cover the whole "top" area.
Such a facility would help us to "individualise" our characters a bit more which is quite difficult within Muvizu due to the restriction to "stock moves"

jonbez wrote:

This would be an brilliant feature IMO.

I agree, that would be excellent. You could literally design the character from the ground up. This would even include giving them tattoos or scars or whatever. A genius idea!

I would love the ability to add full body textures too the characters.
If a tga with the characters UV layout was made avalible and import option added to the character much like the one for the chest and back, but for the full body mesh. This would be an brilliant feature IMO.

Will the ability to add custom textures to characters and objects be a feature coming our way?
We really should be able to add this kind of detail at least to the hair and clothes of characters and object which would obviously have a variety of different textures in reality (eg furniture)
Plastic hair and clothes should be left to Max Headroom

Thoughts?

D
