I had that exact problem when I had Muvizu on a laptop that didn't have enough graphics memory. That could be your problem.

This is a bit strange. All of the info for what you can create is installed with Muvizu. Can you check that the following files exist.

C:\Program Files\Muvizu\Binaries32\CharacterData.Dat
C:\Program Files\Muvizu\Binaries32\ApplicationData.Dat

The files should be approximately 5Mb and 1Mb respectively. (Replace "C:\Program Files\Muvizu" with wherever you installed Muvizu.)

Also as a test, could you download and load a set from the gallery on the site, and see if you can load it?

Thanks.

Hi Bitter Melody,

Could you try installing Muvizu somewhere else? Perhaps C:\Muvizu ?

Sometimes Vista and 7 can be a bit picky about the programmes that can write to your Program Files directory.....

Take care,
-Jim

Did you find a solution? I have the same problem. I tried re-installing, but it didn't make a difference. I'm using 32 bit Windows XP SP3 and installed in the default location. The only thing I have options for are lights and effects. Characters, backdrops, and objects are empty.

hi thanx for your quick reply. Im using the 32 bit version i downloaded last night from the site. There are a few lights and some effects but nothing else available in the "create" menu.
I tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it but with the same problem. I've uninstalled it again and will delete the file and try downloading again to see if it helps. I just used all the usual install options, changed nothing. Wish me luck, i'll let you know if it works.
Matty -

windows vista home premium
dell core 2 duo 2.4ghz ( i think)
4g ram

Just to add to Marco's message:

If you still have no luck after a re-install, can you give us a few other details:

1. Is it the 64-bit or 32-bit version you are installing? (I assume it's yesterday's version.)
2. Do the options appear for lights and backgrounds?
3. Did you install Muvizu to the default location - or somewhere else (this should not make any difference - but just in case.)

Thanks

Hey Matty,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with Muvizu.

That usually happens when something goes wrong with the download.
I would suggest trying uninstall Muvizu and install it again.

Please let us know if you managed to find a solution for it.

Cheers,
Marco

I'm sure it's just me doing something stupid, but I downloaded the program and installed it today. Loaded it up and all ok so i went to the tutorials to get started. The problem is that in my program I don't have any of the scenes, people, objects or anything to chose from. All the boxes to choose a scene etc are empty.
Can anyone help me, do i need to download these seperately?
Thanks
Matty
