I hear ya Dylly! Not only having to re "activate" the software but remembering where the hell the activation key is in the first place! I have a print out of all my activation keys for my software (that I can't find by the way) and I also have the keys stored on a memory stick. So far I do know where the memory stick is.

If my cat gets on my desk when I'm not around that may change, he likes playing with and hiding things that are on my desk.

I've been using some editing software called AVS video editor and I find it's quite good. AVS has all kinds of neat software for audio and video editing but I mainly use the video editor. I purchased a lifetime membership to their software for $59 us.

I found out the membership is for ALL of their software which is cool. I've had no troubles downloading their software or getting help from them when I've needed it.

Here's the link to their site in case you may be interested...

Dylly,

I have given up on Avid as well. I had Pinnacle Studio 14 (which was great) and upgraded to Avid Studio, which was so buggy I couldn't really use it. I did "White Wine" on it as the edit was very simple, but couldn't reliably do any audio work. Patch 1 came out and stopped even the video working properly. It's a shame as I loved the product.

I have moved to Sony Vegas which is great, although the playback review is jumpier. After a decade moaning about it I now really miss that background render that Pinnacle Studio did all the time !

If you're really stuck I'm sure I could get my old Studio 14 to you somehow. If you need it send me a private message and we'll sort it.

Cheers

Berty

I use Corel Video Studio. Ton of effects and simplistic to use.

Thanks for the kind offer Berty, but I've managed to sort it out. Regenerate keys and mess about in general for a weekend! I think I may just start trialing some different bits of kit out...find one I like!
