Posts: 126 		I'm loving the new Muvizu look but cant seem to save a video. The ones that have saved are avi format and I cant open them in quicktime. Or they are blank but with the sound only. The preview is blank and when I click on preview the film plays on the muvizu page but not in the preview screen. Help please!

Posts: 2220 		I suggest uninstalling and re-installing Muvizu onto your pc. If this doesn't solve the problem, email what is wrong to bugs@muvizu.com and wait to see if they can fix it.

Posts: 1988 		Lulu, I hate the say the dreaded 'C' word, but I'm afraid you may have to put in some Codecs. Normally you never need to know what these are, but when exporting video, you do. You're probably best to wait for Muvizu HQ to get back to you, but if you can't wait (or are impatient) then download the k-lite codec pack from here :

Big blue button on the right that says Download Now, can't miss it - that's the actual file link (in amongst all the spam links).

And same again for the 64 bit version (if that's what you're using) :

Once installed, and you've restarted your machine, you should have more options in Muvizu for the output, and you should be able to play any video format (although I'd avoid QuickTime if poss, and use standard windows media player - QT is fussy and a bit crap). Hope that helps

Posts: 494 		Before you do check if it outputs in uncompressed .tga format. Got to movie options and select uncompressed then when you choose a filename change the drop down from .avi to .tga.

Do it with a small video, (few seconds). If you get a numbered list of .tga frames you can view them in Quicktime and they if they look ok it will probably be a codec issue. If rendering still fails then it may be an issue with Muvizu on your machine and the staff will have to help.

Posts: 494 		The reason I suggested that was to eliminate the possibility that there is a problem with Muvizu rendering and to confirm it is probably a codec issue as mentioned by Ziggy.

As I compile my videos in Vegas I always use .tga from Muvizu for final renders as it gives great results.

its probably on your end your using a pc now I would suggest moving away from quicktime as this is a apples thing. You have windows media player this will view avi's etc. So if this is your issue that you can't see your avi video files in quicktime this is due to the fact that quicktime likes .mov files although some of the newer quicktimes sometimes will show avi files its not guaranteed.

Look for windows media player and watch your videos in that if the videos are larger then 2.0 gig actually 1.99gig you wont be able to view them unless you use a pro video editor. If you cant see the avi files in windows media player then something is up with your codecs, but I remember you just purchased a new pc if it runs on windows 8 you should be able to see the avi files (not in quicktime though)

You can see the tga images because your using your windows system to view it not quicktime player

yes i have this one for things that my windows player wont see. I use the windows player for any movies etc i download or purchase on cd and want to watch on my pc but if i can't see something i revert to that media player to check if its me or simply that my windows media player wont play it.

Posts: 1988 		Woz and Urban are right about VLC, it's a great player (especially the audio sync slider, for out of sync vids). If it's a codec issue, and Muvizu HQ confirm it, then yes Lulu, download both the 32bit and 64bit versions - install 32 first, then 64, to ensure maximum compatibility with every know codec. Don't worry, you just install them, you don't need to do anything special after that - it just makes it, y'know, work better

Posts: 126 		The videos that I can view AND hear are in AVI but I cant import them into my Muvizu video nor upload them anywhere. I also dont get the 'upload to youtube' option as its greyed out
