Death by Jelly - scene 1 WIP hehe I dont know if they are exactly the same as muvizu and iclone are not and this might sound harsh "obsolete". Iclone has managed to stay ahead because its left its backend open (they saw the future and adapted). Muvizu is at a cross roads but at the same time they have recognized the need to adapt and are. Their parent company digimania does a lot of production work and indeed from my observations this is how they are financing their software development process.

The other cases are cases of basicly the software got old and could not move forward for whatever reason.

Iclone survives because basically "if its 3d you can get it into iclone" so they have made it possible for it to be used for everything and the biggest advancements are in their 3d exchange system. They are working on iclone 6 now which will give us better and more modern direct x support but they are a huge company that saw mocap coming and added it quick among other things.

Muvizu has to change and adapt to move forward that is why they released that play + package and that is why they are working on that other render package. If the render package is successful it will impact the development of play + I am sure. Muvizu "regular" is probably at the end of its development cycle with the exception of some patches and making it compatible with new versions of windows etc etc. Play + has the same limitation and for it to do more needs to be recoded from what I am seeing, but ironically digimania is working on a third package. Also there is that project Bradley and the Bee which seems to be using this package to create it. So I am thinking that the woes of closed back end are probably going to be solved in part at least by their summer release. This is what my spidey sense tells me.

Death by Jelly - scene 1 WIP mysto wrote:
I feel your pain toonarama and I agree with you, Dreeko and others thoughts about the situation. I still support the Muvizu team and have "high hopes" for the future of the software but it's getting increasingly difficult to keep waiting for something to happen.

I'm still using Muvizu to create animations but I too have been spending a bit of my animation time on the "dark side".

I enjoy muvizu as well but as others have said and done in many cases and I know of a few conversations I have had over the last year that some of the rigidity is frustrating. (for me as well) I have in the last year or so spent way more money then I would like to admit on that "iclone thing" there

I continue to work away at my iclone pipeline stuff and enjoy it. I keep my eye on muvizu and every once and awhile come up with something that I can do in muvizu without getting frustrated and so I do it. For the most part though I have with even that superman series hit a wall some of the scenes I want to do (i dont want to skip any episodes because it cannot be done inside muvizu) so I have had to on the last episode decide what i want to do. I have for the moment just canned that series I dont want to move it to iclone i feel somehow that it would be not a good thing and have started to work towards another project. (as I do love the radio shows and old stuff and to somehow make it relevant to today it gives it new life in my opinion) which I wont be doing seriously until the fall as you know my winter cabin fever .. i will be outsdie in nature when not working so i do very little in the summer that way.

I had some grandiose plans but they are not doable in muvizu so I will do them elsewhere. I want to see digimania/muvizu succeed so keep checking on things. However the closed muvizu system although fun has limited application.

So we shall see where they go from here. I am hoping their summer release package will solve all my present woes

It's Sunday I get scared I hate being yelled at so I only talk about the positive stuff. I dont want to hurt people's feelings. I left out many things because I dont know you and how you might react

but the big thing I noticed (technically) was the shadows from things you need to turn off multiple shadows and only leave the big ones like one per building and your characters and the plants. The rest.. I am not a music video fan there has to be something else to it. I did like the camera concept at the beginning thout as i said

edit: I noticed that ziggy mentiond that as i read back.

Death by Jelly - scene 1 WIP I am waiting to see what is next and yes my only comment was about animation really the rest seems very well set up to me nothing that screamed at me anyhow that I wanted to comment on. I liked the part where he used the syringe that was neat some of the finger stuff in other areas I probably would have loaded in the static hand gestures and maybe rotated the wrists (i avoid hands unless its a huge motion like that syringe stuff) and/or forarms. I always shy away from fingers cause they tend to stretch very easily and the only way to get it back is to reset it all lol. I try to animate hands by using their stock hand gestures and cutting out unwanted bits and meshing together the remaining bits and using the ease-in ease-out because I am a wimp when it comes to hands Big Grin

Now faces.... I over do faces often

It's Sunday I like the concept of the camera being a person moving forward

I am not a huge music video watcher some of us get saturated but its a cute video for the first attempt for sure!

Some more trees rofl I had fazz pegged for a closet shrubbery collector...
...anyhow hope the tree was the right shape for you Mr Hamster.

I think this summer I am going to attempt to make some new leaf textures if I can find the time. I have also been toying with creating texture collections for people we shall see. I toy with a lot of ideas they dont always you know get past the toy stage

How do I lip-sync to more than one audio file? the lip synch system has remained unchanged so any info in tutorials etc is still accurate pretty much yup .

Some more trees Hello Since everyone loves a good shrubbery and since I made these for Mr hamster and since they are well .. for muvizu i thought I would post em here since I can't put em in the gallery anymore. One is abstract cartoony the other two are well not..

They are ASE format so can be used in any version of muvizu as the unreal 3 fbx format does not recognize transparency masks so they are in ASE format

import
No Id texture
alpha to opacity mask
DOUBLE sided

Here is the download Link (right click and select save as)
(its on drop box so if you ever intend to use em i would download them now as I clean out my drop box stuff when it gets full so its just a temporary link)

A way around the 4 camera limit? haha no not really its just people learn over time its just after you spend years making videos and animating you learn stuff. Anyhow glad you got it to work
2014/5/14 18:17:12
A way around the 4 camera limit? nope in this case you can only have 4 cameras this is a muvizu limit sorry

you would need to make a copy of the set and give it a new name and move the cameras where you want. You dont need to delete the timeline you can leave it there and move the start and end markers for the second scene down the timeline and carry on from there with the second copy of the set. This is more of an organization issue then a muvizu thing of course if they had unlimited cameras it would be easier but most engines even with no camera limit will grind to a halt if you have too many of them around

Help Please! for this one i think you probably will need to contact support although make sure your pc meets the minimum specs first.

Help! My characters are stuck on the roof! haha no I am 50'ish not 'old' but not 'young' anyhow glad you got it to work
2014/5/13 19:49:11
I need man skirts, original cast w/ super powers not all the characters do the same thing so basically I guess the answer is NO. They didnt make leg attachements and not all the effects from superhero's carry over to the regular characters and visa versa and same with animations.
2014/5/13 18:42:35
Help! My characters are stuck on the roof! rofl well your welcome I think ziggy mentioned this issue awhile back as well to you anyhow always uncheck that box. I think muvizu should have it unchecked by default but I think its not. (maybe it is now they keep changing that setting so i forget unless I have it open)

2014/5/13 17:30:34
Help! My characters are stuck on the roof! sounds like they got stuck in the dome? disable "can be walked on" for all your props it sounds like they are going beyond the geometry. In this case if they are above or below the work area of muvizu the only solution is to delete it via the menu that shows all the objects in the scene (scene menu ) and redo it.

before you start ensure to uncheck the box on all objects in the set "can be walked on" unless you want the character to walk on it. If its somewhere close to the path the collision box may interfere especially if your using props that have default collision in them
