This is a statue I'm working on in 3D Coat. This is the finished sculpt, and I'm now in the process of creating a useable model out of it for import into Muvizu (or anything else). It's based on the Motherland Calls statue in Russia.

This is my entry.

This is a profit film because I have 2 sons to feed.

This is my original story, (directed by Steven Spielberg)

In this small film I tried to show the importance of respecting life, in an evil way hahaha

I create the slug small world and use avi for the cascade and the lake, also use png for the backdrops with 2 diferent mountains pics for a 3d look and green screen for the sky and killer laser beam.

He is making it available in 2 versions: One for walking and one for head movement / eating people. Need I say more? Who doesn't need a T-rex in his character lineup?

so far the prizes for this contest are as follows:

-- Best submission from somebody using the free version wins a paid license!

-- Best submission from somebody using the paid version wins a minimum of $50 USD deposited to their PayPal account. I've budgeted $100 for the contest, so depending on the cost of other prizes, any leftover funds will also go to the winner.

-- Random drawing winner (one drawing from all submissions) will receive $25 USD

Everybody who enters a video created with the paid version of Muvizu will get:
1) Ikes' T-Rex
2) my cat (including a whole zip file of eye textures & animations and OBJ models for improving it)
3) the talking orange, in case anybody wants to dissect it & see how that was done

(These will also go to the winner of the paid license... but not to users of the free version, since they can't use them anyway.)

remember, there are practically no restrictions on this contest... any topic... any length.... there is no excuse not to enter!

Here is another demo that uses bits and pieces of ideas that several people have posted. The legs are based on Eugene Cheese's min-quadraped... the form and function is based on Ike's Birds... and the eyes can also use AVI animated loops in addition to using static eye position graphics. Eyes blink by turning the eye lids visibility off and on (either by directing or by keyframing... visible eyelids = blink)

Mouth opens and closes by directing visibility of his jaw (visible jaw = closed mouth)



Everybody who submits an entry to my contest will get a copy of the cat, four sets of eye graphics, (green Cat eyes, large blue eyes and smaller blue eyes and black dots... plus a bunch of animated eye loops

Well, then the avi is the problem. Maybe you could process your avi with virtualdub.
If you follow the part talking about virtualdub in this video, you might get it to work. That did it for me.

This is specific about transparant avi's, but it does apply to normal avi's too.

Here's another interesting technique:

I was experimenting with the face mask, and discovered that in addition to adding static photos to it, you can also add animated textures! This has potential to add a lot of facial expression in a few moments that might otherwise take a long time to add programmatically. Any mouth, eye or eyebrow position gets captured!

This also works on modelled attachments for those times when the new head is too far away to use the standard Muvizu eyes and mouth. This is just a quick example... you'll want to take more time with your projects... but it shows one new way to combine animations and stock Muvizu accessories to get new options!

Tony, that was AWESOME!! I loved everything about it! I laughed out loud when the farmer was approaching and the hen was trying to grunt out an egg!

This is a good medium for you because you are a natural story teller... your videos always have interesting twists and turns in the plot that make the story the main event. But prioritizing the story takes nothing away from your other skills... you are doing some very cool things here!

I liked the pole dancing set, especially the way the curtains parted for the girl to enter the stage. I also really liked the scene where the man's spirit rises above his dead body and pauses a moment before proceeding upward... very well done!

I also had to chuckle at your representation of heaven.

I think it's cool that you incorporate your YOYO logo into every video too. That's a great idea.

As stated already, I liked everything about this... now I'd like to know what other software are you using? And for what purpose? It might be something others here would like to try...

I also liked the cartoon-style graphical sound effects ("WHAM!") How did you do that?

And I also liked the sounds the unproductive chickens made when the farmer beat them up... that was funny in a perverse kind of way.

EVERYBODY who submits an entry to my contest will win SOMETHING. I'm working on some new characters that might make a worthwhile prize.

Also another forum member has volunteered to donate a set... I'll say more about that when they get back to me with an affirmation that the set will be available.

In an effort to get more people studying Ikes' innovative method of creating characters (like the chicken, Birdies and T-Rex) I might even buy some copies and use them as prizes. We'll see how much money I have left over at the end of the bills.

So far no volunteers for helping to judge.. but I'd much prefer that everybody submits a video.. I don't mind doing all the judging myself.
