Muvizu Play 1.2 Feedback (also Play+) Wiki? What, you mean this?

Every time I try to access it through here, whether it's the one under Community or Help, I get this message - it's been this way since the Wiki was added. And the Twitter feed still never shows up. And even if I could access it, how do you add entries to the Wiki?

Low level lighting tips Try this :

http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/

It's a simple set of images designed to help you calibrate your monitor to the 'ideal', and I found it handy to balance my monitor and TV to the same levels (just about )

Beware the Eye of Amun-Ra Website released Slick website guys, suits it well. I liked how you laid out the characters too, very clean. I imagine you'll be verrrry busy at the moment with all the possibilities Play+ has now cursed you with

Muvizu Play 1.2 Feedback (also Play+) Question : What happens if I create a set in Play+ and put it up on the Assets? Will non '+' users be able to load it? Would the sets always have to be labelled as Play+ specific?

Erro Shader Model 3.0 Your laptop (it's always a laptop) doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run Muvizu. Your options are :

1 Buy a better laptop
2 Buy a desktop PC
3 Borrow someone else's long term
4 Fabricate a PC from bailing wire and tin
5 Kidnap Bill Gates and make Microsoft give you a new PC in exchange
6 Buy a Mac, and use it as an attractive table to place a better PC onto

Hope that helps

Video Codecs iYUV is a pretty good codec, used to use it myself until I went all uncompressed. If that's still producing files that are too big, your only other option seems to be to use the 32 bit version of Muvizu, which always supported more codecs than the 64 bit version (currently my Muvizu is showning just 2 codecs - msv1 and uncompressed, that's it, despite having the latest k lite pack). And I hadn't realised k Lite had merged their 64/32 bit codecs together in one pack these days, so that's one less complication at least! If you're not going to produce sets that exceed 3gb in your PC's memory, there really is no benefit to running the 64bit version of Muvizu anyway. And you can have both version installed side by side since they live in different places on your C drive. Can't hurt

Workaround for attached objects turning white on save and open:-

When attaching an object to a character simply import the object normally - i.e. create > import. Just stick it somewhere out the way.
Then import the same object attached to your character and it will save and open OK.

Thanks Berty, that works exactly as you said! Toast

Muvizu Play 1.2 Feedback (also Play+) The Timeline blocks for animating Expressive-ness and Custom Texture aren't showing up after you record inputs. They still work fine, and you can see the line in the Timeline, but no blocks.

Muvizu Play 1.2 Feedback (also Play+) Jamie, I have also sent you my set file with the same problem. Whatever texture I put on there, the box on Darth's chest goes default on reloading the set.

The Importance of Eyebrows HAHA! And you can animate the expression slider - finally! Briliant stuff - thanks D, you've given me even more work to do

Ah - you can use the expression slider to make them look like their laughing without any boob fondling antics - nice!

The Importance of Eyebrows You can do what now?! Animatable skin? I didn't know that. Off to try that right now.

Note to Muvizu HQ - please post a changelog like everyone else when you release a new update!

Doctor Who title sequence 2014 in Muvizu Nicely done, as far as I can tell (I don't watch TV much, so I'll assume that's close to the current titles )

The Importance of Eyebrows Looks great - I'm assuming it's a transparent AVI played as skin, synced to the soundtrack? Having the eyebrow attached physically to the head looks a lot better than the floaty slugs we currently have

Inspired by your vid, I've come up with a set of static eyebrow body skins that I'll be using in my next vid as a quick way to express emotions (I'll change them between shots).

Coming Soon... I have a deadline (of sorts) for this vid so no, I won't be dressing each stormtrooper character cos it would take too long (although I am sorely tempted). Next time

Nope, it's faster for me. The set I'm currently working on loaded up in just under 7 minutes in 1.1, and that's come down to 4.30 minutes in 1.2

Hi Ziggy
I meant lag. My version (64-bit Play1.2+) seems to be slower when I'm animating than the 64-bit 1.1 version.

Ah, I got you. No, seems about the same to me. Depends what you're running it on though - any change in the software can be amplified by slower video cards, processors, etc. And my PC is almost sentient these days Big Grin

Muvizu Play 1.2 Feedback (also Play+) First bug - yay

On opening a saved set with a man character with chest object attached (a six sided box) I get the Data Missing error we had before - the box loses it's texture and reverts to white. Yeah, that one again.

Muvizu Play 1.2 Feedback (also Play+) Yeah Berty, it's all about the 'uncompressed' bit - going straight into Vegas (you can re-render the shots out of Muvizu while you're still editing them in Vegas, which is just wierd but brilliant). I know you only lose a little when you use any kind of compression, but, y'know, you lose and that's just not helpful Anyway, this is a moot point now as to use the full HD I have to switch to TGA sequences. I wouldn't mind so much, it's just that I have to make directories for each shot... hang on, why can't Muvizu do that when I render each shot? Please
