PC suggestions please Your licence will transfer to any computer but you'll need to contact support if it says you've gone over the limit.
I think you will seriously want to consider a desktop PC. Laptops are massively under-powered for the price and you can barely call the larger ones "portable" (Too large for most bags and battery that lasts 10 minutes). Smaller laptops simply will not be able to cope with Muvizu.
In terms of specs for a desktop PC, you'll probably be looking at an intel i5/i7, at least 8GB of RAM, an SSD (And HDD if you need additional storage), ~500W PSU, any additional peripherals such as a monitor, and a GPU from the list below depending on your budget (Ordered by price) :
  • RX460
  • GTX 1050ti
  • RX470
  • RX480
  • GTX1060
  • GTX1070
  • GTX1080

(Overall price can vary from ~£500-~£1200)

How much are you planning to spend?

You may be able to buy the assets on the Unity store but I can't say if they'll import into Muvizu well.

How did you learn about Muvizu? This exciting story takes place in 2010.
I was in a hotel in another country where the only English channel was BBC World (?). So I was watching this channel and there was short report on Muvizu in the Click segment. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/click_online/8885276.stm (2:16)
This looked like some great software if I could learn how to use it, and the best part was it was FREE!
So I wrote down the name of the software and promptly lost that piece of paper for a couple of months. Upon finding it, I learned how to use Muvizu over the course of several years because I was too stubborn to watch the tutorials! I later joined the forum... and never left.

Failed to load object from file I think you'll need to contact support, it definitely sounds like a bug but I've not seen it in a long time. http://www.muvizu.com/Support

Yes, this is exactly what I've been saying about Muvizu for years. It's built perfectly for silly little sketches.

I don't see the problem. These things were only sold second hand. Think of the Muvizu store as a Gumtree for 3d stuff lol!

I've seen these models advertised on the forum many times, and haven't once noticed anything about them not being Clayster's own work.
Some of the apology seems a tad insincere or feigned to me, but I imagine that's simply down to the words he's used to explain himself.
However, it's clear Clayster was a bit naive about the whole situation, and he's taught anyone who reads this thread a valuable lesson.
I hope nobody else makes the same mistakes.

Is it possible to make a game using Muvizu? Muvizu is very restricted and you couldn't make a game with it unless you completely ripped out the Muvizu part and just used the Unreal 3 engine underneath. With that in mind, you may want to look into using Unreal 4 or Unity to make a game. (You'll likely need to do some programming though)
I believe Ziggy linked a video here before about how easy it was to buy cheap assets and import them into Unreal 4, creating a game with some very quick simple code.

Please stop quoting so many messages at once. I feel like I'm trying to decrypt the enigma code when working out who you're replying to.
You don't need that script-spot link for basic importing from Sketchup.
I realised we've said quite a few different menus which aren't correct. The Ziggymesh exported I linked earlier appears under this menu in sketchup:

If you're running into any issues then please describe them and we'll be able to show you how to fix them.

You don't need to quote other messages, it just makes your message less clear. (Also you only need to post the message once)
When you have installed Sketchup 8 and then followed the instructions on this site to install the plugin: http://www.rodneyandberty.com/downloads You need to go to "Plugins" in the top menu, then "HardPCMs Exporter for Unreal Tournament" then Export then ASE format then just press ok. This will make a files window pop up where you name the file and put .ase at the end.
To import into Muvizu, open Muvizu then go to "Create"-->"Import" and select the file you just exported from Sketchup.

Next question: in order to animate the texture, is it necessary
to swap out the entire skin? This would be a good tutorial topic, as
the ability to animate eyebrows really is important

Yes, which means you need to have lots of the same skin with different eyebrow positions - taking up many of your texture slots.

Sketchup to Muvizu Hi, you need to download a plugin for .ase models from Sketchup. Here's the Ziggymesh exporter for Sketchup 8: http://www.rodneyandberty.com/downloads This one removes collision which is very helpful.
You can download Sketchup 8 from here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-_4UVPr59ACNjBQSTNYRjNwQkE

Here's a guide for newer versions of Sketchup, although the exporter in that guide doesn't remove collision: http://muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/57

eye brow animation I don't think so, but Dreeko did it with custom textures.

Make a video with a transparent background. Muvizu can render different layers separately, so you can put whatever you want to animate on a new layer and render only that layer for transparency. http://www.muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/161/how-to-use-layers

Yes I already got that method worked in,I was trying do it that way to keep file size down,so I may or may not use that method, maybe just go with direct properties.

That's a good point. Is it possible to use a 1x1pixel avi? I might try that out later if I have time.

What I mean is, you know how you load one of the scifi objects like the control panel that has the blinking lights, their already animated as soon as you add them to the scene, thats what I'm shooting for!

I don't think you can do it the same way as Muvizu's assets, but using a flashing avi texture should do the trick. (No need to animate it manually later). You could use both this and the manual controls in "direct object properties" if you wanted the lights to change at specific times.

I don't know how you'd do it automatically, but it is doable manually. As long as each light has it's own texture, you can animate the Object Properties in Muvizu, set that light's texture to animated, then you can swap out a dark light/bright light picture on demand to fake the lights.

Thanks Ziggy, yea I figured that rout, I just wanted it outomatic so everyone could see that it's animated the way mucous did.

If it's an image texture, you could make 3 AVI clips which last the same period of time and create the correct sequence.
