Ha ha! No I can't

You may not be a Mogul yet Ikes, but the software is able to calculate that, with your skills you should be. So it is carefully written to pre-empt that ascension (I am a former programmer - I have great faith in coders). It is also smart enough to know I never will be, hence no "Pastability" for me

TRANSPARENT MATERIALS IN FBX FILES Two things I get from that.
Pat is the only one of you who can actually Paste an image straight in to a post and, when I click the HTML button I don't see any HTML, the text just changes format slightly. I just tried with Chrome and Opera, same thing. Makes me more suspicious that non-Mogul logins have different capabilities on the forum from us plebs

It's no biggie though, as I can't upload videos either because I don't use YouTube.

TRANSPARENT MATERIALS IN FBX FILES I opened each of them in Paint.Net, selected all, copied and then pasted into the message. Nothing happened though.
I tried with a couple of different browsers as well, PNGs as well as JPGs and I have just tried again in this post on my work PC with a different picture - same result.
Maybe only the favoured few Moguls can paste pictures

TRANSPARENT MATERIALS IN FBX FILES Couldn't have done it without you two guys
It makes life a hell of a lot easier for me as I a very comfortable with Milkshape having used it for years and I don't have the time to learn Blender (again!) - I'd rather be making movies.

I tried pasting the two jpgs into this post but no luck again

TRANSPARENT MATERIALS IN FBX FILES So apparently you can't link to pics on a Google drive from the forum and see a preview?

TRANSPARENT MATERIALS IN FBX FILES For milkshape users.
Thanks to Pat and Rodrisilva, I now have a workflow from Milkshape into Muvizu with transparencies.
I create a model with separate transparent and opaque materials.
Export to Wavefront OBJ format into a folder.
Edit the .MTL file as described by Pat above.
Import the OBJ into Blender (DON"T PANIC!)
Export from Blender as FBX.
Import to Muvizu.
Et voila!

This way if you don't have the inclination to learn Blender all you use it for is to export the FBX. Not sure why the broken link icon is showing below, if you click it you should see the image.

TRANSPARENT MATERIALS IN FBX FILES I checked with Digimania and Voxelise offers no solution to the Transparency issue.

sale on Silo 2.3.1 Although it does look like it is aimed more at the Minecraft fraternity

I did some experimenting with ASE transparency in the week just before Ikes helped me figure out how to get transparency working in FBX files.

Hi Pat,

Can you give me a link to the thread where you explained how you got an FBX with a transparency to work? I have never found a solution to the problem that an imported FBX does not allow me to choose a texture but only a colour and that anyway you cannot define it as two-sided during the import process.
An .ASE file will work (sort of) e.g. if you have two materials in your model, one is transparent, one is not, and you choose "Map Alpha to Opacity and Opacity Mask". E.g. if you create a box with a window in the top it will appear fine but the shadow underneath it will have a hole in it opposite the window.

Cheers.

Store internal server error. I tried for 4 days with 2 different cards with the same result and have had no reply from Muvizu support.
So I won't be buying that pack.

Store internal server error. Anyone else unable to but the halloween pack? I get the following whenever I try.:-

The request was unsuccessful due to an unexpected condition encountered by the server.

NEW Trick or Treat Junior pack - in the store now! They are nicely done, but follow on the Digimania tradition of never releasing the same style of figure twice. One set is rarely visually compatible with another.

If you do, they should make you an instant Mogul, it is such a pain.
