Grouping objects Also worth mentioning that although objects can be grouped together and moved around your scene you cannot move them together in direct mode; so it only works for static objects.

To take a snapshot press F11 - the snapshot will be placed in

C:\Program Files\Muvizu\MuvizuGame\ScreenShots

Urban Pad City Creator Promo Wizaerd
This looks very interesting and if it can be made to work a godsend.

Do you kkmow

a) can it definitely (through the relevant pipeline) be used as an imprt into Muvizu
b) can it produce output for iclone too?

On the News Both brilliant Dreeko, and it would be great if you could keep it going. Are there no fires in Scotland any more?

They deserve a far wider audience.

Perhaps we should all be thinking of some way of getting more exposure for Muvizu videos. It strikes me that they don't (usually) get seen too much outside the Muvizu community; there must be a way we can improve on this?

muvizu mogul demands more satire! If Vince wants satire - he must have it

Feedback on Muvizu - 5th September 2011 (ENG) Just noticed a small bug.

If you are editing a character and add something to the shoulders and then select "None" the microphone properties box opens up and the the accessory stays there.

Workaround is to remove from each shoulder separately

Textures for imported objects Simon
There may be other things but having the "Use ID textures" import option unset helps .

Can the create object window be made scrollable Hello there

Is it possible to make the import object window scrollable.

As it is loads of great SuP models are unusable because you cannot get at the scale/physics/lighting options at the bottom when there is more than a handful of colours/textures

Alternatively the display (for textures) could use words rather than thumbnails so it is more compact?

The next (patch) release of Muvizu will contain plenty of science-type items for this. It will be available at some point in the near-distant future

Wonderful - I could definitely make use of that. Nearly every idea I have for a movie features a mad scientist somewhere along the way!

Ambient Occlusion and UV Maps I'm at work at the moment(!) but why not create a simple cube in sketchup and fill with a texture using the paint bucket then try.
Otherwise look for something really simple (football?)

Ambient Occlusion and UV Maps Must admit importing SuP models seems to be a bit of hit and miss affair.
Anything too complicated and things tend to get a bit messed up; I often find planes go missing.

Also it would be nice to have a guide on what all the import options are; just in case we're doing something wrong!

Ambient Occlusion and UV Maps Quoling

Just checked it out

The option to export is greyed out if the material is a colour rather than a texture.
If you right click on atexture file it does allow export.
If you let me know which model you are downloading I will give it a go here

Ambient Occlusion and UV Maps Also worth taking a look at this post which involved texture maps and worked!

Posts: 311 I am no SKETCHUP expert at all and i am not sure this is what you are after but I have managed to export textures ok. There is probably a better way but this is what I did.
1. Starting in SuP - Opened the materials window
2. Select tab and pick "In Model" materials from drop down list
3. For each material in the model RC and Export Texture image to wherever you want to keep them
4. In Muvizu import set USE ID TEXTURES to NO
5. RC on object and amend the textures to the ones previously saved.
6. Sometimes the image is not the correct size. To fix this go back into S UP Materials window and select the material you want to change and select EDIT tab and then adjust the tiling size numbers at the bottom. Trial and error to get to the size you require. Then you will need to re-export.

Whichever way to choose to do it I think you will always need to re-assign the textures (or colours) within Muvizu (unless it is just one complete texture map)

AND also be aware that there are currently issues within the latest release which will cause problems so if you want to experiment I would download the previous release (also available on the downloads page)

If you are usinf one map for the whole model you may need to just play around with the import options (notably "use id textures")

Remove Lips John
Depends on exactly what you are after but you can remove the lips in the editor using Face>mouth>Remove lips (or something like that - haven't got access to M at the moment)

another transparent video test Looking around the internet it would appear that the only way you can get transparent AVIs is by exporting them uncompressed.
QT and flash seem to have the capabilty but Muvizu only accepts AVI

another transparent video test Great to hear
Ideally we'll find a way of making compressed transparent videos work too - perhaps cinegobskeyer will allow that?

another transparent video test Paul
Just to be sure - have you done this first (from Dave's original instructions)
First, edit Program Files\Muvizu\MuvizuGame\Config\DefaultGame.ini (or Program Files (x86)\Muvizu\MuvizuGame\Config\DefaultGame.ini for the 32-bit version on a 64-bit OS). Set bStripVideoAlpha to false. Restart Muvizu. If Windows will not let you edit the file (with an "access denied" message because it is in Program Files) then just copy it to your Desktop, edit it there and then copy it back on top of the original file.
