Looks good, looking forward to 2018

I was actually thinking of you when I changed the date !

2017 it is. And that's final (probably)

Coming Soon 2016 I have also re-vamped the film's website to make it a bit more modern and less clunky.

I have uploaded some more images from the movie.

You can find the website here :- http://www.rodneyandberty.com

Please note that the website has moved so the ziggymesh sketchup exporter can be found here.... http://www.rodneyandberty.com/#!downloads/rmmoz

Coming Soon 2016 Just doing some tidying up and have slightly rehashed one of the trailers for Amun-Ra (now with more realistic release date!)

Here it is.....

Just working on the second one now.....

Changing duration and other points primaveranz wrote:
.....but the ability to change the duration of an action on the timeline by dragging the end of the "block" would still make a huge difference to the ability to create accurate animations.

It's not quite the same but I always record actions by hitting the action I want then I press idle as fast as I possibly can. This terminates the action.

You can then adjust the position of that idle block to terminate the action where you want.

Depending on the action you can get some pretty good results this way.....

Feb 2016 release feedback/bugs ukBerty wrote:
Just trying to use a directed rather than keyframed camera in the latest version.

Anyone having issues with getting the keyboard commands working (Q,E,A,D etc) - they don't seem to do anything anymore. The arrow keys work though.

I can't see anyone else complaining which surprises me as it's a bit of a showstopper for me....

Don't worry - restarted Muvizu and all is good.....

That looks awesome! How do you do the flashlight animation?

That's quite an old shot now so I think it was in after effects. Nowadays I would use HitFilm.

Use Mandy for animal heads braj wrote:
Mandy or the other newer characters let you deselect most body parts related to them, allowing you to get only the head remaining, which you can then add a new object to.

Well I never knew that... everyday is a school day at the university of Muvizu !!

Experiment in motion tracking using Hitfilm MrDrWho13 wrote:

You could probably work with the 2D panning I suppose

Yes, this is very useful for subtle zooms or pull backs, which I tend to do in HF now.

If you separate characters onto their own layers you can also gain control over their positions when they do an action - this can make a big difference particularly on close ups.

You mention the use of FBX models, are you going to pan around this shot?

That's the rub without Mocha imput or output from Muvizu.

I suggested exporting Mocha info from Muvizu cameras so I could make the camera in HF mimic it.

I do move around a bit, sometimes using trackers sometimes just freehand, but you are limited to what is achievable.

However, you'd be amazed at what you can get away with !

Experiment in motion tracking using Hitfilm I'm a big fan of HitFIlm - don't know about the addons as I bought the PRO version - well worth it. Now with Muvizu's excellent layer output it really has made such a difference to my production.

Here's a recent shot.

Only the characters and their shadow is done in Muvizu - everything else is HitFilm.
The backgorund is a mixture of an imported FBX models and a backdrop.
Stick in some heat distortion, light flares, vignette and some blur and it quickly starts to come together.
I've pretty much stopped using the Muvizu skydome for for outside shots - you get a better effect using backgrounds in HF.

Cutout Occluders Oh yeah - I remember complaining about that now !

I'll have a play....

Cutout Occluders I have bitten the bullet and loaded the 24th Feb version to build my next scene.

Does anyone have any idea what "cutout occluders" does on the make video dialog ?

What I'd really like to do is generate FBX 3D camera data using Mocha Hitfilm and import the camera moves into Muvizu.

I mentioned this a while ago to them when I first got into HitFIlm (which is awesome). The more people that ask the better.

ASE plugin PatMarrNC wrote:
Anybody out there who owns 3DS MAX and has used it to save in ASE format?

That's me. It takes longer to export an ASE from 3DS MAX than it does to export an FBX, but it's bearable.

You then have to add the ZiggyMesh manually (or automatically... http://www.muvizu.com/forum/topic5438-importing-assets.aspx?p=f#post28931 )

I use a mixture of FBX and ASE now depending on what's going to work - as you know Muvizu is very picky.

ASE plugin Johan,

As MDW suggests - I still use Sketchup 8 with my ZiggyMesh plugin and just use the Warehouse outside of Sketchup - it's no big deal.

I may get round to re-engineering the plug-in for later versions of Sketchup.... but there's just so much else to do....

Cheers, Berty

2016.01.15 Bugs So does this mean there's a new version of Muvizu for the 360 stuff ?

Does anyone know the latest on the issues with 1.6 ?

Where are we ?

I must admit I haven't bothered upgrading since 1.5 in October as I'm trying to finish a project and need stuff to work.
