Thanks for the kind response people - just wanted to show that I've been beavering away on something... I should point out, though, that this is just a set test shot - it's not in the movie. Haven't shot frame 1 yet (other than the set test that Kerry and Co saw). It will be months yet before it's done (assuming I can find my American voices...)

Also, those trees? They aren't pictures on backdrops - they're proper 3D trees. Can't tell you how much pain I've gone through to make them look reasonable! Sometimes, you just can't make movies in hours, or even weeks, but the grind is worth it in the end. That's what I keep telling myself, anyway Big Grin

Its a kind of "insanity" and probably we should start some sort of support group ziggy. In any event yeah I did an experimental tree and they work quite well if you take some time at it mine was not great and I did not spend enough time cleaning things up but it was after all an experiment hehe. Anyhow I love the muvizu character in the "real world" stuff I decided awhile back it was the mostest cool thing about muvizu if you have the patience to pull it off!

Anyhow see you again with another teaser/test shot

now get back in your basement and hurry up and finish

If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well. I know exactly what you mean and just when you get on a roll life has a disturbing tendency to get in the way.

They're proper 3D trees that look that good, now I'm seriously impressed.

I haven't decided if this is a "group" coming soon thread but I will post here anyhow haha

I started working on a christmas video I decided to do something musical instead of write a story about killer snowmen or something haha. It was supposed to be short but alas I dont think I know what short is so its going to be about 6 minutes long.

anyhow I started building another set for it..
so here is my progress.. its half done

Sammamish again. Thankyou Muvizu HQ for fixing the transparency - it's (get ready for this) tree-mendous. Stop groaning, and kindly address all insults to the big guy on the right

Funny you should say that, as I was just looking at maybe putting some wildlife in there, but it's tricky to know how good they'll look when they can't really move... Also, what kind of birds do you get in Washington State? Back to the research!

Ok the eyebrow is raised...I'm going to have to give the obvious answer...erm 'large ones'!

But aside from that I've just been tinkering with adding an owl into a grave yard scene. In the end I made a model in two sections...body and head...so that I can animate the head section independently. I also got a bit of joy with adding animated gifs to a plane and then moving the plane through the scene like this.

Took me a second to get the joke - LOL!

Hadn't thought of using the animated gif method, but I'll give anything a go (except fat birds from Seattle Big Grin ). Not sure if it's all that important to have animals in there, considering there's going to be so many people wandering about, but then again... This film making lark can be tricky to keep under control sometimes (this set alone is currently 113mb and rising fast! )

I tried a penguin so far it didnt work so well kind of just slid around looking unpenguinlike..

but if I was to make birds model ones it would be birds that you know sat on a perch and moved their heads or something like that. Otherwise I would use some compositing in a video editor and cheat ^^ .

But those outdoor scenes definately call for the birds flying overhead you know there is water there so a seagull and some strategic bird plops on someone's head to you know add some realism lol.

I have tried adding animated GIFs to a backdrop but they don't animate. Is there some secret or do you have to turn them into transparent AVIs first?

Animated gifs don't work within Muvizu I'm afraid. Transparent Avis are not instantly workable either. You have to follow a specific tutorial to do so. I don't have the link available for it at the moment as I'm posting this from my phone. Hopefully someone will jump in and provide it before I'm home to do so.
Cheers

Thanks Dreeko, no need for tutorial I know about AVI transparency video program files config false etc etc. It's just that Dylly said he used an animated GIF and that piqued my interest.

Answering forum queries on the move. Impressive Big Grin
