I wonder...

October 2009 saw the launch of Muvizu and the standard characters

July 2012 brought us the Heros and Villians

April 2013 brought us Rosie

Will 2014 bring any new characters/animations? Poor old standard character has not had any new moves for about 3 years!

Yup, crying out for new everday animations, heres mine...
1 - eating with utensils.
2 - bend down to pick something up.
3 - sword play animation.
4 - Diy animations- Hammer, Saw, Screwdriver...
5 - having a drink.
6 - a single handgun shot animation.
7 - Digging.

Just a little help for the upcoming Muvizu animation pack add-on......

All of the above plus ( and preferably first ).....

A phone loop might be nice as well. No pick up/drop just holding the phone to the ear.

Hold object one handed.

Drink from bottle.

Stick fingers in ears or cover ears to block sound.

Suck thumb like a baby.

"Thinker" pose.

Artist painting standing up.

Before you run out of sticky notes if any of these can be done with existing actions and I've just missed them please let me know.

In My "Alice In Wonderland" project I NEED The Duchess Character to Hold The Baby in Both Arms.
This action could also be used for carrying large objects, Lifting a Bride over the threshold, Carrying a Carpet, or Disposing of a Corpse !
Also I'm still waiting for the ability to Direct Characters to Appear / Disappear. (Cheshire Cat!)

you can direct the characters to be visible and invisible now, it was introduced in the last update.

Wow! I did not know! That makes a HUGE difference for me for SO MANY THINGS!
Was it mentioned at the time? This is the first I've heard about it.

i cant remember if they told us or not. it was when they introduced play+. i dont think we've had an update since then (my memory is getting worse lol) apart from a couple of patches for bugs.

swords and medieval objects
dragons

This would enrich the films , given that the subject is in vogue ( Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones , etc )

(sorry for my English , I used online translation feature )

I think than an option like 'create your action' where the user could create a sequence of acts that after could be saved as one action, like, 'i put hand in front and bring back to head' and a i could used this action to simulate the act of pick a cell or a sword, or simulate a hug. The action created could be saved in a bank of acts, than could be selected and put in time of animated actions... it's a suggestion.

(i'm training my english, sorry once more)

You can already get that, but its called iclone... I also think it's extremely unlikely you'll ever get that level of freedom within Muvizu, but there's no harm in asking Big Grin

Speed of movements is the one thing I am desperate for. Being able to sync the movements to music would be a huge help.

I was about to start a new topic on this subject of 'new animations' and found this thread and all your voices,
I was perplexed that one can find 'scratch ones behind and sniff' ? limited use surely? but not something useful like someone having a drink or someone driving with hands on a steering wheel or single handgun shot. and many of the ones listed by previous contributors to this thread.
I'd like a few more musician animations also.
playing the fiddle, harp, and double bass. for the celtic music.
After making models for these i couldn't get them to work with any of the existing animations after many hours of experimentation.
best i could do was get a harp player to almost work from a certain angle using vickys.
Love muvizu though.

The severed eye is great in terms of the left eye texturing as it allows for a coloured iris which adds character to the characters. Could a version with 2 normal eyes with facility to colour change the iris be included in the next update? rather than one of them hanging out.

I'm thinking along the lines of the same idea. (These could be pretty big steps for Muvizu, but it's just a suggestion) Like for example:
  • Having two different levels of difficulty and options; Expert & Beginner
  • Having a puppet action tool, where you could control how the character moves their body or facial expression (Expert)
I think some of that could be quite good, but I imagine it'll take a LONG time before Muvizu get to that stage.

Here's one idea that would open up a truck load of possibilities: Think of MUVIZU as one module in a larger system, then acquire more modules that are really good at doing the things MUVIZU can't do.

For example, AnimeStudio has an entry level product that is VERY affordable. It offers frame by frame and bone animation, a character creator, lots of predefined content, keyframes etc. Because rigs can be posed in any way, you'll always have an alternative to fall back on when MUVIZU doesn't have the predefined action or pose you need.

It would be very easy to take a screen shot of your MUVIZU characters and then rig them in Anime Studio, so your audience wouldn't even notice that you switched animation environments. By default, Anime Studio exports ONLY what's on the screen... so if you create a character animation and export it, you can now put it on a MUVIZU layer and it will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your project!

http://my.smithmicro.com/anime-studio-debut.html
They frequently put this on sale, but even at full price $49 is money well spent for the solutions it brings to the table!

As time goes on, I will try to post links to Anime Studio rigs I've created from the stock characters in MUVIZU. Or maybe some sample video that incorporates snippets from both programs

$30 USD for MUVIZU plus $50 USD for Anime Studio Debut puts a whole lot of animating power in your hands for less than $100 USD! Consider the fact that other animation products like ToonBoom Studio cost much more
