Posts: 2 		Okay, I'm trying to make a 4 minute video for a class I'm taking, and I need it to be under 20mgb's. However, No matter what I do, the videos that muvizu is compiling are absolutely massive. On normal settings, it clocks in at 4 gigs! With all settings at minimum, compression, and no AA, I can get it down to about 700mgb, but that is still ridiculously larger than is allowed. Any help would be massively appreciated.

Posts: 298 		What codec are you using?what dimensions do you want it to be? what are the dimensions at present?
I believe, you shouldn't have to compromise your productions quality by reducing AA to get what you want.
i use the xvid codec and if needed then convert to .flv using some prog like format factory to reduce the file size when posting to the web on occasion but there are likely better ways to go.

Posts: 1988 		Why not just use Any Video Converter (or any other free one) to convert the finished vid down to the size you want? Remembering of course that size squares with quality... Either way, the codecs within Muvizu are just to get the footage out, they don't give you much in the way of options (other than resolution).

Posts: 298 		Just tried converting a 3min set file(cimmeterro rock)to .avi using xvid codec. it came out at 221mb then to flv with format factory output file 47 mb
this is at 1920 x1080 ...the quality was rubbish so not a good solution.
tried converting the same xvid .avi to flv with 'any video converter' reducing audio track sampling from 44k to 22k. came out at 64mb, again visual quality was poor.
sorry i couldn't help.Though if you are aiming for a smaller resolution say 640 x 480 you may be successful.

Posts: 1786 		just convert it to something like 720p dont stick with 1080p. Mpeg is known to be huge so go with a type of avi or something. The muvizu codecs that come with the software are not the answer to a final video format they are an in between

However for 20mb and 3 minutes he is going to need to go to SD from HD or at least back down to 720p

There are options for you to tweak the birate and frame rate to compress the file size.
The size varies based depending not only on bitrate and FR but also the file type (avi, mp4. wmv...)
