360 panoramic video People are strapping multiple cameras together on poles and creating spectacular 360 degree video. Strikes me that this might be possible in Muvizu - has anyone tried playing with this?

Muvizu is Loading I use Muvizu with kids in school. Teenagers tend to expect everything to happen instantly, including the loading of computer programs. If it doesn’t look like the program is loading they will click on the icon again (and again) to help it along it along. During those 10 - 15 secs they may reclick half a dozen times. Sir - its not working ! Then of course the poor PC gradually displays the 6, 7, or 8, instances of Muvizu it is valiantly trying to run before it grinds to a complete halt.
It would be really handy to have some sort of little animated Hang On -Muvizu is Loading graphic on screen .

No show in Muvizu Gallery Well I thought I did post them through Muvizu, certainly the first ones I did.
Maybe then I have to repost all the missing ones through Muvizu at the same deleting them in from my own channel so that I dont end up with 2 copies there.

Thanks for such a rapid reply so late on a Sunday

No show in Muvizu Gallery I am fraid I cant get my head round how the Muvizu Gallery here ties up with the big wide youtube. Over the last year or so I have posted 7 movies. They are all there if I go straight to youtube.com, but I can only find 2 of them searching from here, and not the one I have just posted. Any suggestions ?

Slowing / freezing character actions Thanks for confirming that Dreeko, I thought that was the case, just wondered if there was something obvious I was missing. Perhaps you could stick it on the list with development ideas.

Slowing / freezing character actions I want my character to take out his mobile and stand there talking for say 10 secs or have a character sit and meditate in the Bhudda pose for a whole movie while other action goes on around him. How do I stop characters immedietly leaping back to the previous pose?

New version she no work Excited teacher persuades his boss to fund 7 new machines for the Art room, (with NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS cards) to run Muvizu. ( promises of totally engaged teenagers producing stunning aninimation work). Slight problem , the new version wont run and keeps getting general protection fault error messages. Thankfully the older version of Muvizu does work..... phew.......

Was wondering if maybe there might be updates and tweaks to the latest version coming sometime that might work for us someday. Yes its a huge local authority system running on XP, or do we have to wait till they go over to windows 7 in a few years. In the meantime we will keep animating with the original version

That Sinking Feeling Doing my first band movie. I make a stage from one of the abstract cuboid props and cover it with a ground plane with a suitable wooden texture. I stand the band on the stage with all their instruments and equipment, and I do some animation - everything fine no prob - its getting late ,I save the scene and go to bed.
Next day I open the scene - drum kit and amps are in place but all the band members have sunk through the stage up to their waists. I pull them up, stand them back in place and and carry on animating. Next day there they are again wading through the stage. Anyone know whats happening here?

Recording conversations I have 2 Characters on screen having a conversation - all sound files recorded ready. I thought I might be able to record dialogue with lip sync for character A, then go back and do the same thing for character B, all in 2 nice easy passes. The second pass seems to scrub the first. Does it all have to go in line by line alternating between each character?

Walking on the Water Last time I posted my Muvizu video directly to youtube so I had to be content with a posting a link to it on here. This time I uploaded it here but it seems to have disappeared somewhere. I also made myself a little flyer to post with it but that little picture icon only seems to want to let me put in a URL.
Anyway its called Walking on the Water. it was inspired by news story about a business man in israel with a money making idea which prompted a little song, and now of course this.

synchronised chaaracter movement Is it my imagination again or have I spotted some Muvizu clips here with several characters all moving together in step (ie. a synchronised dance). I suppose have to record each character going through each step in the sequence and then try to tidy everything up in the timeline. Unless there are any handy shortcuts to this process ?

Wobbling Imports I find an object I need in sketchup warehouse (in this case a wedding cake), make sure it is the right sort of size, export as an ase file, and import it into Muvizu.I move it to where I want in the scene, but it won't stay still. It wobbles off the table and onto the floor. I keep finding this problem with small props, floating or weighted doesnt seem to make any difference. Any suggestions?
Thanks

My First Effort Emily,

Thanks for your continuing help with all the little details. I am using my “hip “ time to get the hang of Muvizu for when I go back teaching in a few weeks time. We use 2D and stop-frame animation a lot, particularly with autistic kids.

GET WELL SOON is my little thank you message to them and an advert/taster for Muvizu. I love my job.

Muvizu is the first 3D program I have come across that looks good to use in school. The right sort of balance between too techy and all ready-made. And what a lovely community
By the way I love Fizzy Barstool.

You - you can upload the link here, but if you want the video on the gallery on the front page, go to your profile, then select the 'Upload a video' link on the left hand side.

Cheers,

Em.

My First Effort Thanks for your comments. I meant it was my first Muvizu film, I have played with other video. I had to resort to a bit of flash for the teleporting. I could move the chair through the air but not the guy.

I do like your logo - that Lisbeth I take it?

Will not Create Video Thank you so much. How did I get away away with that up till now? Doesnt matter its working - brilliant !

Will not Create Video Keen to complete first Muvizu move and trying to make a couple of short scenes to add - just 10 secs of action no dialogue. I record the passes, hit Create Video and the box tells me my movie length is 0:00.000 in length even though I can preview all 10 secs. I also notice the bottom bar of the timeline is blank ( it should be green shouldnt it?. What am I doing wrong? the rest went perfectly.

Extra objects 3D Jim,
I suppose we are all get likely a bit miffed when some program tells us that our hardware isnt good enough for something. How dare it !, who does it think it is? Now that I have just swapped my graphics card for something more up to date - woops - it all works-- duh!- that was the cause all along. Sorry for all the flap.
The moral of this story is - is if your trusty machine is working OK with the supplied objects in Muvizu, dont assume that it will cope with importing even simple objects from sketchup or elsewhere.

Thanks again for all your help.

my graphic card doesn't meet mimnium Hi,
I am new to Muvizu and I am experiencing a similar problem ( see thread including correspondence with glasgowjim. Muvizu works fine for me but the error message about my graphics card not being up to the job only appears when I try to imprt objects from sketchup, and then the whole prog crashes.
Because it is 4 years old I am putting in a new graphics card tomorrow. I will see if that does the job.
