Busted The Movie - Gaguing Interest I understand what you're saying, but I still feel I can be optimistic. I'm a writer first and foremost, so my goal is to get noticed primarily for my storytelling ability, not so much for the animation. To that end, I spend lots of time watching animation from all eras, both good and bad, to try and figure out what made movie A work and why movie B didn't. If I can get noticed for my writing ability and get my foot in the door based on potential, that's all I really need.

Busted The Movie - Gaguing Interest My trouble is, I can't learn Blender. I tried. Trying to even figure out the basics of how it works makes my head spin. I could probably learn Synfig eventually, but it still has a pretty steep learning curve. That's why I like Muvizu, because it streamlines the process for those of us who are primarily interested in storytelling first and foremost. I would cite the "Hanna Barbera Rule" which basically says that the animation doesn't have to be amazing. As long as it's well written and acted, that's all that matters. An excellent recent example of this is the 2012 Russian film The Snow Queen. Not too impressive visually, but the story and acting more than make up for that and, to be quite honest, I enjoyed that film more than Frozen which, to me, seemed like pretentious, overhyped nonsense.

Busted The Movie - Gaguing Interest Hi all! I got my laptop back with a new hard drive and since I lost all my previously made sets and characters, I'm basically having to start over from scratch. Operating on the assumption that I'm not going to make the submission deadline for the film festival, I've decided to try something more ambitious since I'll have a whole year to work on it.

I've been thinking for awhile about trying to expand Busted into a full 30-40 minute film with a complete story, but I know I couldn't do so alone, so before I spend tons of time working on a script, I thought I would see if anyone would be interested in collaborating.

In addition to voice actors, I would need someone to write several songs because I was hoping to make it a Disney-style musical. I'm afraid I can't offer money because I have none and I wasn't planning to profit from this anyway, instead using it as a kind of calling-card to try and get my foot in the door of the animation industry. If no one is interested, I'll understand and drop it for now in favor of another idea I could do myself but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Question About Music Rights Thanks for the info. But wouldn't you know it, minutes after my last post, my hard drive crashed and all indications are that it is completely dead, necessitating buying a new one, which I may not be able to do for months due to having no money at present. Sigh. I was going to try and have something finished for a local film festival this year in hopes of being noticed and hopefully being offered a job at an animation studio somewhere since there are representatives from Hollywood who go to this festival every year, but it looks like I'll have to wait a whole 'nother year and try for the next one. Major bummer.

Question About Music Rights What about old stock music from the 60s or earlier? I found several collections of such and it doesn't seem like it would still be under copyright since it was never officially released to the public on an album so I should be able to use it, yes?

Question About Music Rights Hey everyone! I'm back! After a longer-than-intended break to deal with some personal issues, I've started work on my next project, an homage to the old cliffhanger serials and I was hoping someone here could answer me something. If a film is in the public domain, does that mean the music from that film is also in the public domain or are music rights separate? I ask because, assuming I can find any, I would like to use actual music from actual serials to make the tribute complete but I'm not sure if I'm allowed. Does anybody know?

2D Muvizu-Type Software? I have Anime Studio Debut 8 and while it is fairly easy to use, as you said, the character generator isn't that great and making your own character from scratch is a pain due to how time consuming it is. I'm about halfway finished with a short I've been working on for awhile now and it took three tries before I could get the villain to look right when he moved. That's about half an hour or so of work each time. I'm basically looking for something that's as easy to animate as Anime Studio, but with a character generator as robust as Muvizu.

2D Muvizu-Type Software? Hi all! I was just wondering, is there anything out there that's similar to Muvizu, but for making 2D animation? GoAnimate's not bad, but I'm looking for something I can download and work on stuff offline. Any ideas?

Actions for only one character It's not exactly what you're asking about, but you could make a custom texture for one character type and try it out on a different one. I can't guarantee it would look good at all, but if you wanted to experiment, that's one way. That's actually what I did for Busted so all the inmates' uniforms would look more or less the same.

Dreeko's extra bits I know the feeling. I've spent who knows how many hours messing around with the character creator making original characters and seeing how close I can get to recreating characters I like (like Tintin and Thompson). Meanwhile, I have episode 3 of Busted fully written and haven't done it yet.

how do i lip sync multip audio files Without looking at the tutorials, one trick I figured out was to use Audacity (which is freeware) to combine multiple lines of dialogue into one long audio file, then lipsync all the characters to it and do the talk/shush thing on each character individually, adjusting stuff on the timeline as needed. Hope that helps!

That's actually pretty clever. Good for you for thinking of that! Personally, I don't even notice the watermark anymore, so it's not a problem for me as far as composing shots goes, but I guess each person is different.

Because of my autism, I'm never sure if other people will think the same stuff is interesting that I do, so I try not to think about that and just go with what appeals to me personally. I am so glad I found this place 'cause muvizu gives me an outlet to express my creativity I never had before. Like I said on my profile page, my goal is to one day make feature films, but for now, I'm taking baby steps and learning the craft of telling stories visually and I learn best by doing, so any constructive feedback is helpful, positive or negative.

The Day of The Doctor trailer in Muvizu Looks pretty cool! I'll have to try and watch that tonight if BBC America is showing it. I only watch the show occasionally (the thought of trying to catch up is kind of daunting), but I've liked what I've seen of it, especially the Christmas Carol from a couple years back (which was one of the most brilliant uses of time travel I've ever seen).

EDIT: Just checked and BBC America is showing it in an hour and a half. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks! I wasn't sure if anyone else would dig it, but it's good to know at least one person does. It's like Pixar says, ya gotta make stuff that you like and if anyone else likes it, that's just a bonus.
