I am new to muvizu and am impressed, but I find navigating in the scene space and moving cameras to be frustratingly difficult, I cannot get slow, smooth movements. I have practiced a lot and cannot get the ease of moving around as I can in other 3D apps. Is there a way to slow things down? I tried changing the responsiveness of my mouse, but that didn't accomplish anything.

I must admit I find it very hard as well. But have you tried using the keyboard instead of the mouse?

cameras are hard we all struggle with them. Its been suggested to change the camera system to respond to waypoints or something as well but not something that muvizu has had time to deal with yet. I am pretty sure I remember reading it was on their very long to do list to find some way to add a system of waypoints or something but I can't remember or perhaps it was just wishful thinking. Myself I can't get smooth movements often but it has in fact improved in their newer releases. Previous to the launch of muvizu play smooth camera movements were pretty much impossible now its an issue of fine motor control which many of us lack as we age.

For camera movement, you can change the sliders to change the speed of movement/rotation etc.

yes but that means they will actually move slower in the actual video the issue is reflexes if people want them to move that fast they are out of luck unless they have really really fast reflexes

Yes, the keys provide a marginal improvement, but moving around the scene still goes way too fast for me. Ideally, there should be included in preferences a way to adjust the speed of navigation within the scene. I am hopeful a future update will include this feature.

I second this idea!

I feel your pain! I'm new to the program as well and have gotten the hang of just about everything but the quirky navigation system. If you have any success please let me know.

Just to follow up with this topic. While dealing with some system crashes (fatal errors) I uninstalled the program and re-installed it from a fresh download. Not only did it clear up the fatal errors, but the navigation issues I experienced earlier were gone as well. It worked for me and may help someone else.

You never know when dealing with new software. My own first assumption was that it's new software with an obvious learning curve and that I had to be an idiot. While all that may be true, I discovered in this case there was more to it than that.

Well, color my face red. I started this thread, and now I have to eat some crow. It turns out the reason I was having the navigation problems had to do with installing muvizu on a virtual machine hosted on a Mac, using VMWare. I read somewhere that Bootcamp, available as part of the Mac OS, can work better for Windows apps, and that certainly is the case for me. Now Muvizu is stable, reliable and navigates smoothly and perfectly. So my apologies to the makers of the software and to the Muvizu community. This thing rocks!! I am going to be upgrading to the full package and am really excited about the animations this great tool will generate.
