Monday night/Tuesday morning I uploaded my first vid to Muvizu and I'm still waiting for it to appear, I understand it can take up-to 48 hours but I'm beginning to think it isn't going to show. Reading through the forum it seems that uploading to Muvizu can be a bit of a hit and miss affair. Now I haven't forgotten that Muvizu and the web site is in beta and what's more it's free, but I was wondering if there's a better way we can do this?

Would it be better if we uploaded our vids to YouTube then requested Muvizu to add them to our profiles, which in turn get added to the Gallery page? Personallyy I have to idea how this works, but I know my test vid on YT pretty much showed up the moment it had finished uploading. Is that how you have it planned for Muvizu too?

I'll look into it for you. The uploading process is a little mysterious but here's how it works behind-the-scenes. This may explain why there's a short delay in videos appearing on our site. A 48-hr delay suggests something extraordinary is going on. Anyway:

- Uploading through our App or website makes your video go to youTube with special hidden tags
- Within minutes your video will appear on youTube

- ***After a longer time youTube sends out a message to us saying "new upload with those special tags"

- our website, recognising the special tags, will pull your video across to us and embed it in our Gallery

- ***But first the administrators get to approve/reject your video...so it will sit at someone's desk waiting their approval. This means that videos can only appear on our site during office hours.

- Once it's approved then your video will appear on muvizu.com




The two stages marked *** can add up to a delay of an hour or so. Ha, we've also rejected a few videos too. I trust yours wasn't a racist rant?

I've checked the moderation system and unfortuently there are no videos listed for your account. We have had a few problems with upload videos but these seem to be fixed with a second upload. What you need to do is:-

1. Login to Muvizu
2. Go to "Profile"
3. From the "Profile" page click on the "My Account" link
4. On the "My Account" tab check that your youtube user name is listed there, its just after your username for Muvizu and your icon. If this is not listed there what you need to do is click the link and follow the steps to link your Muvizu account to your Youtube account.
5. Go to your "Profile" again and this time, from the left hand menu, click on "Upload a Video" at this point all you need to do is enter a name and description, click next and select the file you wish to upload.

If at #4 your account is listed or after #5 and a 24 hour (weekday) wait for moderation to be completed your video has still not shown up then please let us know.

In the mean time could you tell us your youtube username and link to or embed the video here so we can check the details from youtube compared to what youtube sends back to Muvizu.

The Vid I have up at the moment is not the one i tried to upload via Muvizu the other night/morning, but here it is anyway...

I'll try uploading it again now.

edit... I've just tried the embeded code here, but it just comes out as a load of code!.... Oh wait a sec i think thats got it!

Posts: 609 		Unfortunately we are at the mercy of youtube here. Sometimes videos come back to Muvizu.com within a few hours, other times it can take a day or more. Generally though videos come back and are moderated to be viewable on the site within 24 hours. It's not an exact science though.
