Hi guys !

Hope I find a quick fix here it's making me nuts.

For some reason Muvizu doesn't seem to be able to deal with lip sync on multiple tracks for the same character. Like it's ok if there are 2 characters and they have one sound track each but not if they have multiple lines recorded on multiple sound files. So you just have to record one track at a time if you want lip sync, and to assign lip sync to the next track you need to go back through prepare dialogues and direct dialogues, record and repeat for next track. That's a first problem but not the biggest.

The biggest one is when I assign a dialogue to my character right now I choose "talk" to have Lip sync and not "Shush" but Muvizu tells me "go **** yourself I'll shush your character no matter what you order me to do" so as soon as I move from "prepare dialogue" to "direct dialogue" it automaticaly changes to shush.

Tell me this is a known bug with a known fix or a knwown workaround. Please sorry if I sound pissed, I lost half my day trying to work around that crazy bug.

Thanks a milion !

The first thing is a limitation of Muvizu, but can be solved with any audio editor: http://www.muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/58/getting-multiple-dialogue-tracks-into-muvizu
The second thing sounds like a bug and I'll test that out later.

This is he biggest downfall of Muvizu, specially if you work hard on your animations and invest time and money. For years I have waited for a solution to this shortcoming on an otherwise promising software. There are many workarounds on this subject and these are just a few of them.
Keep trying until you find the one that works for you.
One more thing, there is NO other animation software that has this particular limitation: "one sound file for ALL characters"

@Anticip This software is so bug-ridden it's virtually unusable. You've only discovered the tip of the iceberg...

Thank you for this editorial video.
I am inclined to understand that using the Record feature in Muvizu is going to lead to a lot of frustration when recording dialog.
I am used to recording Music using a Multritrack recorder, which looks similar to the Timeline recorder. I was kinda hoping I could drag several individually recorded clips into a single audio track, similar to my old Sonar Audio recording software, but it is not possible in Muvizu.

It would appear people get better results recording audio clips as lines into Audacity, and then merge them into a single clip there, before Importing the mp3 or wav file into Muvizu.

Hi there, I'm new to Muvizu and really like the program alot, though it does have a few issues. I came up with an easy workaround for the lip sync issue. Maybe you've already thought of this or it doesn't work in your situation but when I ran into it, this is what I did.

Set up the recording with him hushed and activate it as soon as you can. record the rest of the characters part of the lip sync animation.
In the timeline, slide the talk trigger over to the start of the audio track.

Hope that helps.

I tried all these solutions. Just bought this a few days ago but this lip sync problem is way too frustrating. I don't even care if the mouth matches but want people to at least know who is talking. Reading into comments it seems like this and other problems have been discussed for a considerable time with no solution so I'm gonna try and bug out and ask for a refund when these guys return. It's a shame because the possibilities are terrific but it is what it is. Not sure they offer a refund but I can't take it anymore. :-) I guess it's time to see what else is out there.

Comictude,
I hate to see anyone who is active on the forums leave, but I can understand the frustration. I hope that you will return to let us know what you found, and to show us what you are creating.
I watch a lot of videos created by Muvizu users and the lip syncing never seems to bother me at all. Maybe it is because I enjoy Anime where I almost always have the Closed Caption going so I can read what they are saying. The lip syncing on Anime is always off, but I still love to watch it.

A few people here talk about the importance of the story, and I feel that carries the animations I have seen. I am always amazed by the end results I have been able to see by the artists here. They do a great job, and most of them will answer any question and share their techniques.

You can not beat this community, and to me that is worth the price of admission. It is only a one time fee. I have learned more by being in this community in a short time than I would have had to pay a lot more for in a university course. Plus, it is always here to come back to.

Thanks, Rocque,

I think it's irritating because of their description as much as anything . . . excerpt ; animation libraries and automatic lip-synching makes it easy to create compelling animations in minutes.

I know some don't see this as a problem but obviously a large number of people do and have for some time. But it is what it is. I suppose if they don't issue a refund I'll put it aside and keep an eye on the forum to see if they ever fix this. :-)

just out of curiosity... can you post a snippet that shows the problem you're experiencing?

in DIRECT DIALOG mode (when the character is supposed to be lip-synching) which of these icons is colored red? The first one or the second one? If the second one is red, then the character won't lip synch, because its in SHUSH mode.

There is a bug in the current version that makes SHUSH remain active... ( once you click it to SHUSH it won't go back to TALK until you close the session and start over with a fresh dialog

I understand the Talk and Shush and don't use Shush at all even though it seems some suggest its use as a fix.

I did have a question. Breaking down scenes makes sense but how to you keep the last scene in your clip? In other words when you finish playing a scene the scene shifts back to the original. Characters may have moved and if you are splitting scenes you want to start the next scene in exactly the same spot you ended the previous scene. I don't see anywhere where it says how to do that.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I tend to use a new camera angle when I change scenes. Viewing from a new angle tends to disguise slight location differences from scene to scene. Above and beyond that, I also tend to keyframe slight camera panning DURING scenes, to highlight the 3D nature of the set. It adds visual interest while simultaneously avoiding the kind of static scenes that end up looking jarring if you break continuity
