@ Woztoons - The Inventor? Never heard of it... That is a brilliant video! Love the music too.

@ Quorthon - I remember Battle of The Planets (who doesn't?), although Marine Boy is a bit before my time... I didn't think I remembered Space Sentinels until I played it - OMG!! I had a mad flashback to being 10 and watching this crap! Really, it was appalling - the sound effects alone... ROFLMAO Thanks for that!

I was always a big fan of Looney Tunes. The ones mentioned earlier, and how about the two drunk mexican mice talking about Speedy Gonzales and Slowpoke Rodriguez? Later, Tiny Toons were pretty funny.

Fat Albert was (and is still) great. Loved the drunk bum on the park bench! HAHA!! And the Brown Hornet!

Anyone remember The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers?

I also liked early Voltron and Robotech.

All you sci-fi fans look up Star Trek - The Animated Series. It was a bit before my time, but I'm having fun watching the episodes with my kids now (on Netflix).

All the new Pixar cartoons are excellent.

Others include: Watership Down, Secret of NIMH, Heavy Metal, The Simpsons, Moral Orel (gulp), Ren and Stimpy, original Pink Panther and Tom and Jerry...

EDIT: I just remembered my all-time favorite. It was a Tiny Toons episode where Daffy Duck was trying to get his script to the big Hollywood director.

Weird story: the director of most of the star trek cartoons was colour blind to pink and grey so the fearsome Romulan Warbird all of a sudden looks like this:

My favorite cartoon is: The Winx Club. It's a very popular tv show in Italy and is currently running season 5 in the fall.
My favorite characters: (In Order)
Aisha
Flora
Roxy
Bloom
Musa
Techna
Stella
Favorite Guy Characters:
Helia
Nabu
Sky
Riven
Brandon
Timmy
Favorite Villians:
The Trix: (i.e Icy, Darcy, and Stormy)
The Wizards of the Black Circle
Lord Darkar
About the show: Winx is about Bloom a lost princess from the magical planet Domino (Sparks in other versions). Throughout the seasons she tries to find out who she really is but also has to battle various villians along the way.
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SHOW. (Next to Pretty Little Liars.)

Ah Quorthon you have made my evening! MARINE BOY! My favorite ever animation! Piper & Boltan...I suppose I put up with Clee Clee but...Marine Boy what a guy, Saturday mornings sat in front of the TV watching static waiting for transmissions to begin...the Yorkshire TV fanfare...then joy of joys waiting for that kid to pop some gum and jump in the water! . I learned to swim under water before it ever dawned on me to stay on the top. I have to admit that even today, every time I go to the swimming baths I pride myself on the ability to swim a length under water without the aid of chewing gum...just a drag on a roll up when I get back outside!

I remember another Saturday morning masterpiece - Ulysses31
which was very stylish - and the lead character had a heroic beard! A cute/annoying (they do go together) robot Nono, and a decent spaceship. Never saw the last episode to see how it all turned out though

Having watched Ulysses31 as a kid too, I can tell you it ends happily enough and they do escape Hades and get back to the solar system. Nono remains steadfastly annoying all the way to the end!

Dylly the beagle has just sat entranced by that episode of the Clangers...I must hunt out some more for him as he's fed up with one man and his dog reruns.

I loved the Clangers as a kid...yet there was always something a little disturbing about it...a little dark...& that Soup Dragon always scared the crap out of me...good practice for sofa hiding when I got into DrWho.

But for sheer weirdness and really frightening the bejesus out of a kid you couldn't beat the Germans. This kids film was cut into three parts and shown as a mini series by the BBC. Now this really had me frightened! I present The Singing Ringing Tree!

@ Woztoons - They're still animated - okay, not tecnically a cartoon as such, but... Clangers rule. As does Bagpuss.

@Dreeko - thanks for the mental scarring! So, if you make promises to giant duck-faced goldfish then you'll get a complete makeover and bears will fancy you... Got it! Instructional lot, these Germans Bit Wonky..
