Just wondering what everyone's favourite cartoon is?

Personally I love the Duck Season/Wabbit Season/Elmer Season Looney Toons short, but in terms of the one that made me laugh the most it has to be Pixar's "For the Birds"

WE Coyote cracks me up every time. I loved that one when he was falling, looking up at the camera and waving, then lands ok, looks up, looks at the camera front shot, then produces a little broken umbrella.,then a massive rock lands on him! , and the quality sound of that classic " pofff"" when he lands in the distance..
Ha ha ha bowrofl quality...

I don't know if I could pick a favourite, but the theme tune from Mr Rossi has stuck with me for decades.

I have to agree with artpen, W.E. Coyote has got to be one of my all time favs. When the camera looked over the edge of the cliff and you could see him falling that tiny puff of smoke and the "wap" sound when he hit always cracked me up and still does.

I have a LOT of "favs" but W.E.Coyote is up at the top of the list.

There was a brillianl cartoon on the bbc website years ago which was also shown on the paramount comedy channel called" birds on a wire"

basically it was two birds sitting on a telephone wire and the conversations that were going through the wire, were spoken through the birds. there was a great one where a guy was phoning a pet shop to buy an octopus so that he could shoot it from a cannon.

sound bizarre ,I know but it was really funny ..

cheers

Anything made by Tex Avery, but particularly Droopy. Also the Tom & Jerry cartoons made before the mid sixties - wonderfully gratuitous violence back then, when you could slam a hot iron into a cat's face, or drop an anvil on it's head, drug him, shoot him, stab him...ahh, the good old days! Back then cartoons were made to be shown in cinemas, for a mixed adult/kid audience. Not like now, with all this politically correct junk...<moan cuss mutter mumble>

Having said that, the Fairly Odd Parents impressed me. And are we not counting the Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, etc? Are we just talking kids cartoons here, TV stuff? GlasgowJim, it's your topic, any guidelines?

I had every type of cartoon in mind, but let's face it - the cartoons we see as children are the ones that stay with us.

Ooh, just remembered - the Sylvester/Hoppity cartoons where Sylvesters son keeps putting a bag over his head as he is ashamed that his dad keeps on getting beaten up by mice!
