Posts: 32 		I live in Ohio and my grandson is my best friend. I coach youth ball - baseball and football and previously basketball and girls softball. I started writing after I retired to help supplement social security. I wrote probably 2 dozen or more books under a pen name but lost interest when my wife passed away in 2015. Recently got into cartoons as a means to help in the grief process when my grandson and I aren't doing sports or fishing or hunting and decided to try my hand at Muvizu. I actually was going to drop it but decided to keep at it because I'm impressed with this forum and the people willing to help.

Posts: 1738 		Glad you've decided to stay, Comictude! We have a lot in common... like you I'm retired and a widower, so I understand about the grieving process. I don't have any grandkids, but my 2 adult kids are my best friends.

I'm very impressed that you've written so many books since retiring! That's quite an accomplishment!

There are definitely hurdles to overcome with this product, but its still amazing what can be done with it if you're clever at workarounds. There are a couple of long standing works-in-process that should be released within the next 6 months, and I know people will be blown away by the quality of these projects.

I'm from Dublin, Ireland the home of even heavier and more prolonged rain than even MrDrWho13 gets in England I'm a 56-year-old headbanger. My main interests apart from Muvizu are writing playing and recording music the louder and heavier the better.

I'm from south of France and playing with Muvizu for many years, now.

My main passion is making movies so in the past I made some short films (not online) and later I discovered 3D animation. Since that, I'm learning every day, essentially using the fantastic software : Blender !

In an ancient life, I was a drummer and today I spend most of my time for my two young kids and making 3D art and video games as indie game developer.

I think a Banjo player qualifies as a musician!!! It is nice to learn where everyone is from, and what we have in common. All the musicians should find a way to collaborate on a song. I bet it could be done, then we could have our very own Muvizu theme song for collaboration animations, even if it was for the end credits or opening. Something easy for me to say since I never really got very good at playing an instrument.

I am very sorry to hear about losing a life partner (Pat and Comictude), and watched what my dad went through when my mother died. It is a horrible experience to lose someone you love and share so much with. I have memories of showing my mother cartoons I made on Go!Animate, and she was definitely my best audience, and just thinking about it makes me smile. She was definitely my best friend, and even after 4 years I still want to call her up every day.

What types of stories did you write Comictude? I would like to be able to start and finish writing one book, but lately am writing math curriculum for Geometry, and hopefully it will benefit students who struggle with the subject.

It seems we have people who live in areas with the most rain on this forum, and then I live where I watch the rain clouds pass by. Finally this year we are having more rain then in a long long time, so it is making a difference.

Thanks to everyone who is sharing a bit about themselves here. It makes the forum a lot more fun.

I think I didn't want this to be frustrating but this forum made me decide not to drop the program and glad I didn't. Maybe at some point combining my story telling with this will get me back on track.

yeah, if you already have more than 2 dozen finished stories, with fully developed characters and plots... wow! What a great resource to have at your disposal while learning to animate!

Thanks, Brian. This group is the reason I decided to stick with this. Hopefully in the future I can contribute with some help as well.

I'm from northern New Jersey about 15 miles from NYC.

I'm considering making my novel into a video instead of the old self-publising route. (Maybe that's what they call a novel idea? !!)

DAZ and Poser are great tools but they take way to long and demand more resources than I can gather.

I enjoy many hobbies and some even dovetail with Muvizu - such as music, photography and videography.

I'm a writer of novels and screenplays -- with a bit of background in acting, video editing, and fine arts. I'm curious to see what happens when I try to combine them with muvizu.

I'm going through the tutorials as we speak and upgrading to Play+.

Posts: 1738 		Quite a varied response just from the English-speaking forum! I know there are many other nations represented in Muvizu's user base, but they wouldn't show up in this sample because they don't speak English.

At a time when there are many differences that divide the people of the world, I see value in making a conscious effort to look for areas of common interest while simultaneously choosing to ignore the ways in which we might be different. In this group the common denominators all appear to be our shared focus on creativity. Music, modelling, animation, painting, programming, writing, acting, photography, and I'd guess many more craft related hobbies that didn't get mentioned.

What I find so appealing about creative people is the passion that defines their lives. That's a good thing and it can't be faked. Creative people are always far more interesting to me than anybody else. I'm very happy to have discovered this group of kindred spirits.

Agreed! Thanks for the warm welcome. I like that muvizu has an active forum of multi-talents and, from what I can tell, a sense of community. I hope I'll have time to contribute in some way. I'm pursuing a film making certificate at a local community college, starting next week. I have no idea what sort of workload it will be, but the good news is I'll have access to their sound and editing equipment and studio space for recording.

I've already had a tech challenge downloading Muvizu Play+. :-) Here's looking forward to resolving it with support soon!

It sounds like you will do fine in your classes. I will be here to encourage you. If I had it all to do over again I would be going into some sort of film editing or definitely more animation.

I look forward to watching your progress. You will find everyone on this site is encouraging, so be sure to share with us.

No down here! I'm still loafing around between Lincolnshire and bobbing around on a boat on The Norfolk Broads. Well not so much 'bobbing' as 'sanding, varnishing and restoring'. It's amazing where Muvizu can take you. An interest in making models for Muvizu to make films got me working with 3D and 'building things' which in turn gave me a better understanding of design and construction which was useful in teaching myself woodwork so I could do the work on my boat myself which lead to making films about restoring my boat which has lead back into Muvizu to animate various sections of the films I'm making.

I do pop in from time to time, but until I've finished this restoration my time is severely limited. Almost done...mind I say that every year but there's always one more bit I need to replace. Thankfully my brother in law has become a boating fanatic and has joined the team so things should start moving quicker now!
