Put me down as a Bugs Bunny fan.

Nothing beats the Square dance scene from "HillBilly Hare"

I was never fan of either Warner Brothers or Disney cartoons. There. I said it and I'm glad I did.

However, pick a cartoon from the '80s and there's a good chance I liked it. Except maybe The Smurfs. And Turbo Teen: the Human Car. However, give me The Transformers or G.I. Joe or even He-Man and the Masters of the Universe any day. Spiderman and His Amazing Friends or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were way up there too.

I also loved the older Droopys and Popeyes, not the awful new versions made in the '80s. The Flintstones were great, never liked The Jetsons though. Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space, and of course the Super Friends.

And this isn't even mentioning Saber Rider, Scooby Doo, Rocky & Bullwinkle, George of the Jungle, Top Cat, and... hmmm, I'd better stop now, I could go on for days.

Me too, but I prefered "What's Opera Doc" - still find myself when hearing a certain tune singing to myself "kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit". Not to mention "Bwunehilde you are so wovewy".

I very nearly did, but that was a girl's cartoon, so I laid off. laugh But I surely watched it as I had a sister and honestly, it was so ridiculous a premise I couldn't stop watching it. It's right up there with Saved by the Bell in "this is so awful yet I love it" enjoyment factor.

And I loved the Thundercats too, until Snarf started saying his own name 4904903490 times per episode. I did not, however, like the obvious ripoff Silverhawks.

@Danimal ridiculous but AWESOME! my little sister and i both had jem/hologram dolls that came with a TAPE with all their rockin' tunes on it! it was the best thing ever. although i have to admit i always preferred the misfits and wanted them to win (jem et al were whiney & don't even get me started on her boyfriend whatshisface). they had better outfits, hair and music.

le sigh - i miss that show

Rio?

Yeesh, I remember more about that show than I thought.

And I've never seen The Raggydolls, and at work YouTube videos are blocked so I can only see the static picture, but it reminds me of the classic School House Rock cartoons. I've forgotten the bulk of what I watched on Saturday mornings, but still catch myself singing "The Interjection Song" every so often, or even "Hanker for a Hunka Cheese."

And speaking of "Hunk," how about Voltron? I always preferred the vehicle stories to the lion ones.

hahah! yeah that's him! what a jerk - going out with jem the alter ego and her normal persona at the same time and thinking it was ok. ps: i think you're my new favourite muvizu user.

Voltron RULED! my bf has a pair of sneakers reebok released (the voltron pack) that came with actual action figures. they're awesome http://ev-rev.blogspot.com/2010/05/reebok-voltron-pack.html

*edited bc i wrote jem and her alter ego. i get confused. it's the alcohol abuse

I totally don't remember this, and for that I'm truly grateful. That is hideous. And so, so pink and girly - Thundercats in spandex... Big Grin

The Centurions.

It was basically a 23 minute toy commercial but goddamn it there was a guy with a brilliant porno 'tache who's superpower was he could transform his jumpsuit into a pair of ski's and a jetpack, a combination that (upon reflection) makes absolutely no sense.

Oh, so many choices!!! Love the simpsons and futurama, always have and always will!! No one an obsessive pokemon and digimon fan- they had great intro's and theme songs! Thanks you Japan! Also developed my memory span massiviely learning every one of the pokemon, and digimon. Was very dedicated also to all the cartoons from the comic books- x-men, batman, but spiderman is the only one that stands out now, might have repressed the memory of the x-men one, because storm was played by some 80-year old with a chain smoking habit, and the voice actor's tones changed basically everything about a great character.

my favourite was probably Battle of the Planets

but I also dimly remember Marine Boy (1966) as being amazing, oxygum to breath under water, a reliable ultrasonic boomarang and an albino dolphin (how do you make a dolphin cooler than he already is? -make him an albino!)

last one from me - The Space Sentinels - pretty cheesy but the animation was a lot clearer (though repetitive) compared to the japanese stuff on tv.

Ah Quorthon you have made my evening! MARINE BOY! My favorite ever animation! Piper & Boltan...I suppose I put up with Clee Clee but...Marine Boy what a guy, Saturday mornings sat in front of the TV watching static waiting for transmissions to begin...the Yorkshire TV fanfare...then joy of joys waiting for that kid to pop some gum and jump in the water! . I learned to swim under water before it ever dawned on me to stay on the top. I have to admit that even today, every time I go to the swimming baths I pride myself on the ability to swim a length under water without the aid of chewing gum...just a drag on a roll up when I get back outside!

Now for British animation...I'm a Postgate fan ...Noggin the Nog being my favourite...but I am also a huge fan of Trumpton, Chigley, Camberwick Green...hang on we could do a Muvizu remake Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and DREEKO!

Another of my favorites was Mary, Mungo & Midge. Now I was wondering the other week about doing a little 'where are they now' remake of this classic for the kids...but after research I found that Midge had been sold for medical experiments, Mungo was involved in a dog fighting scandal and Mary was still living in the, now run down, block of flats dependent on various substances after getting into Amway in the early 80's.
